Meet Julia Brink, NYC Psychotherapist

Welcome!

I’m so glad you’re here.

Hi, I’m Julia, a therapist in New York City. I see therapy as a place where you don’t have to have it all figured out, a space to show up as you are, with all the questions, feelings, and stories that make you human. My style is collaborative and down-to-earth, and I bring curiosity and compassion into every session. I draw from approaches like Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy, DBT, and Feminist Therapy, but I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Together, we’ll find what feels most helpful for you, always guided by your values and your goals.

What makes my approach unique is the range of experiences I bring to the work. Before becoming a therapist, I spent years in research and in school-based settings, which gave me a well-rounded perspective on mental health. Those experiences taught me to value both the science of what we know about mental health and the deeply human, personal side of each individual story. This blend informs how I work today: evidence-informed, but always centered on you and your lived experience.

I’m especially passionate about supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and the lasting impacts of trauma. At the heart of my work is a belief in the power of self-compassion and authentic connection as catalysts for meaningful change.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia. When I’m not in session, you can usually find me trying out new restaurants, practicing yoga, hiking, or spending time in nature. I also enjoy winding down with a book and a cup of tea.
